Our Story

The House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church opened its doors in 1965. Our late Pastor and founder, Apostle Ruben Beechum, had a heartfelt desire to bring souls into the kingdom of God. Apostle Beechum founded The House of Joy ministry on the principles of prayer and total submission to God’s Holy Ghost. Through years of tireless service, he and his lovely wife, Mother Lula Mae Beechum, laid the foundation for the church to thrive, teaching the power of holy living and deliverance.

The second generation, led by the late Apostle Ralph E. Beechum, carried the torch and took the ministry higher by expanding the building infrastructure, growing membership, and carrying the Word of God overseas. Due to the commitment and diligence of Apostle and his lovely wife, Lady Elect Carolyn J. Beechum, many ministries were birthed from The House of Joy.

Today, Pastor Angelica L. Beechum has inherited the spiritual torch and continues to carry the light of God’s ministry with the spirit of excellence. The House of Joy ministry now rejoices in 50+ years of ministry, and continues to shine, fulfill and press toward God’s higher calling under the direction of Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

Our mission is to bring souls to Christ by our example of holy living and knowledge of His Word. We equip and empower leaders through study and daily application of the truth. We speak truth to power, as witnesses with the Spirit of prophecy ministering to the total man, woman, girl and boy. The House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church is a lighthouse to the world, sending a beacon to direct souls to the shores of salvation.

The House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church opened its doors in 1965. Our late Pastor and founder, Apostle Ruben Beechum, had a heartfelt desire to bring souls into the kingdom of God. Apostle Beechum committed his life to the Lord and, through his example, led countless others into God’s grace. God chose him and his lovely wife, Mother Lula Mae Beechum, to preach salvation and deliverance through Jesus Christ. They shared the Word of God with people from all walks of life, without respect to race, age, or culture.

Our Beliefs

We love God and value His people. We believe in one God in three entities: God the Father, Christ the Son of God and the Holy Ghost. They are separate in power but unified. We believe in the work of the Holy Ghost and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ with the evidence of speaking in tongues, according to the book of Acts 2. Sounds spooky? No way!

We believe the Holy Ghost is the Comforter, promised by Jesus Christ (John 16:7)to abide with us and teach us according to God’s will (John 14:26). Without the Holy Ghost, we are not able to fully live and speak God’s Word in power and purpose.

God’s Word commands us to hallow and rest on the Sabbath day. According to Exodus 20:8-11, keeping the Sabbath (Saturday) holy, separate and special allows us, as God’s children, to reconnect with Him. God has hallowed the Sabbath and designed it as the day of physical and mental rejuvenation—a ‘reset’ time to fully acknowledge God as creator and source of everything we need in this life.

According to Ephesians 4:11-13, God gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of service. For this purpose, the body of Christ may be built up until we reach unity in the faith, in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature and complete of the fullness of Christ.

We believe the five-fold ministry gives a Godly balance to the perfection of character, grace, faith, and hope for every believer who lives their life according to God’s purpose and word.
